The “secrets” of an unusual way to lose weight have been revealed.

The fast food diet is not a myth, but a unique technique for fans of fast food chains. Although trainers and nutritionists actively discourage eating junk food, people lose tens of pounds on burgers and fries.

“Fast food is the same food with the same set of KBJU (calories, proteins, fats, carbohydrates). Each person can calculate his own calorie intake,” says fitness trainer Mikhail Kochkov in an interview with Gazeta.ru. Having received the calorie deficit necessary for weight loss, it is possible to shed pounds in the same way as with chicken breast.

However, the number of meals and portions themselves will be significantly smaller than with proper healthy food. This can cause a person to feel constantly hungry.

Do not forget that the quality of food affects not only weight, but also other vital factors, for example:

  • Vascular health;
  • Brain activity;
  • Skin condition;
  • Energy.

Why is a fast food diet dangerous?

When you eat exclusively fast food, your body does not receive the necessary microelements and vitamins. Your overall health deteriorates, not to mention the quality of your body. Loss of muscle mass and accumulation of fat with such a “diet” is guaranteed.

For a certain proportion of calories, it is necessary to consume commensurate BJU. When losing weight, nutritionist and head of the FireFit fitness project Anastasia Petrova advises eating 40 percent carbohydrates and 30 percent each of proteins and fats. Especially if losing weight is accompanied by training.

On a fast food “diet”, the ratio of nutrients is almost impossible to maintain. You will consume large amounts of fast carbohydrates and animal fats. This, in turn, will cause an increase in cholesterol levels.

“Fast carbohydrates don’t fill you up, but they do cause a spike in insulin,” says Petrova. After consuming such carbohydrates, blood sugar rapidly drops, resulting in an increased feeling of hunger.

There is a solution

Fast food lovers can treat themselves to fast food, even if they are actively planning to lose weight. “You can eat healthy food as your main diet and indulge yourself with fast food or sweets, keeping within your KBJU norm,” notes fitness trainer Mikhail Kochkov. This way, you get everything your body needs and enjoy your favorite food.

Losing one kilogram per week is also considered the norm for weight loss. You shouldn’t push yourself into strict limits and try to lose weight beyond recognition in an extremely short period of time.
