An amazing method that is important to use correctly.

A cup of coffee half an hour before training increases the rate of fat burning. This was discovered by Spanish physiologists from the University of Granada, who published a study in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition.

How does coffee affect weight loss?

Caffeine is a common drug that enhances fat burning during exercise. However, its actual effectiveness has not been tested for a long time. To find out whether caffeine has any benefits, the researchers invited 15 men aged about 32 to exercise four times over the course of a week.

Subjects were randomly assigned to take caffeine or a placebo at 8 a.m. or 5 p.m. And half an hour later we started training. The number of hours of fasting before morning and evening training and other factors were strictly standardized. Fat oxidation during exercise was calculated using indirect calorimetry — determining the composition of inhaled and exhaled air and its flow rate.

What was the result of the experiment?

It turns out that caffeine intake actually increases fat oxidation during exercise. However, in the afternoon the effect was more pronounced.

Thus, moderate-intensity aerobic exercise in the afternoon and after consuming caffeine was found by researchers to be optimal for fat loss.
