If you add daily walks to your schedule, the calories will burn.

A scooter is a fashionable means of transportation that makes a trip not only enjoyable, but also useful. If you use the right type of scooter, you can even lose weight! Nutritionist Anton Losev spoke about this in more detail.

What is the use of a scooter?

The nutritionist believes that walking on a scooter is a good physical activity that helps you lose weight. Naturally, not an electric scooter, but a classic scooter is suitable for this purpose.

“If you use not an electric scooter, but a regular one, which you need to push yourself, then this will be physical activity. Active movement on a scooter can be compared to cardio training in the gym,” Losev is sure.

The nutritionist believes that an hour-long walk on a scooter will help burn up to 300 kilocalories. “In terms of calorie consumption, it will be less than on a treadmill, but still. I think that in an hour of riding a scooter you can burn 200–300 kilocalories,” the specialist suggested.

Is it possible to lose weight by riding a scooter?

For long walks on a scooter to lead to weight loss, you need to monitor the number of calories consumed. Without this, you will hardly be able to lose weight, says the expert.

“If you consume 2,000 kilocalories a day from food and spend the same 2,000 kilocalories without a scooter, then you will have the same weight. If you start riding a scooter for an hour a day, you will add 200–300 kilocalories to your consumption.

As a result, you will have a consumption of 2300, that is, there will be a calorie deficit, which will start the process of losing weight. Therefore, it is important to monitor nutrition and physical activity,” Losev advised.
