Ex-football player and now wife of Borussia Dortmund coach — meet Cora Velm

Head coach of “Borussia” One Terzic is a very important person in the Dortmund club at the moment. Under the leadership of the coach, the club reached the final of the Champions League for the first time in 11 years, where they will meet the winner of the pair “Real” — “Bavaria”.

“We could not have had a better son-in-law. It makes us proud to be him. Not because he is now the head coach Borussia Dortmund. He is just super social, helpful and a really great person,” says Klaus Velm about Edin Terzych in an interview wa.de.

Edin Terzych has been married since August 3, 2013. Wedding with wife Cory Velm was a social affair, at least in and around Bergkamen: a celebratory wedding at Nordkirchen Castle, followed by a party at Kolping Hall in Werne.

Velm, now 40, and Terzic, 41, met and fell in love while studying at the Ruhr University in Bochum. Specialization: Sports science.

“He liked to be at our house a lot,” says Klaus Velm. “He said: you always have something delicious.” But it was not only thanks to Cora’s mother, — says his wife’s father with pride, — because “we cook together.”

Rünte was also the long-time home of Edin Terzic, who played 188 games as a footballer in the top and regional leagues — most recently with BV Kloppenburg. “When he moved from there to Dortmund, we built an apartment in our house for the two of them,” says Klaus Velm.

Cora Velm also played football for a long time. The wife of the current head coach of the Dortmund club played for Bochum as a midfielder.

Klaus Velm worked as a supervisor at Borussia D U16 while Terzic worked there as a coach. Soon after that, an offer came from Istanbul Besiktas. Head coach Slaven Bylich wanted to see him as his assistant.

Edin agreed, and a month before the wedding, his whole life turned upside down. “Cora was in a rehabilitation facility in Bochum. She always worked for about 14 days and then flew to Istanbul,” says Klaus Velm, who stayed with Borussia’s juniors as a supervisor.

The couple lived in a long-distance relationship until June 2015, when Terzic followed his head coach to West Ham, where he worked in the Premier League and Europa League. “The two of them got a flat in London and we packed the van to the brim and drove there with their stuff. My daughter was only six weeks old at the time,” recalls Klaus Velm. In November 2017, Terzych and Bylich finally broke up — the family returned home to North Rhine-Westphalia.

Now Terzych plays for Borussia, and the couple lives happily in Dortmund and raises two daughters.
